1 Kanda Karnan was a great devotee of Lord Shiva and his name was derived from his own bizarre behavior. In Sanskrit, Kanda stands for bells and Karnan refers to ears lobes.
2 It is believed that Kanda karnan was actually a spirit that ate dead bodies and for him, Lord Shiva was the only God.

7 He hung bells in his ear lobes to prevent him from hearing Lord Vishnu's name being said.
